Mirecourt Violin Circa 1940s (OV251018)

This is a nicely made Mirecourt violin, which shows great attention to detail in its construction.  It has a beautifully carved scroll and the tonewoods used are of high quality and highly flamed.   It features a plum red/brown varnish and plays with a deep and powerful resonance throughout the four strings.  (It has a small repaired table crack as can be seen in the photos).   

It is set up with Evah Pirazzi strings and Ebony tailpiece.   A nicely made violin and suited to a good classical student or traditional fiddler player looking for a powerful and sweet tone.
