Violin by Derek McCormick, Belfast 2007 (OV24015)

This violin was handmade by a Derek McCormick, a luthier from Belfast. It was a commissioned instrument for a professional musician, hence the cornerless design. It features an attractive one piece birds-eye maple back and fine spruce was used for the top. A well-cut, symmetrical scroll provides further evidence of good workmanship on this violin.
The violin produces a sweet and focused tone, ideal for sensitive playing or accompaniment. It is set up with Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece, ideal for bluegrass or traditional fiddlers.
Made in 2007, it is numbered and signed and numbered internally by the maker. It is offered at a very reasonable price for a master-made instrument!
