Violin from the Lowendall workshops, Dresden circa 1890 (OV24016)
Length of Back: 355mm
This is a good quality instrument circa 1890 from the German city of Dresden. It was most likely made in the Lowendall workshops, which employed many skilled workmen at that time. Crafted in the Stradivarian style, it features a good maple back with aged patina and a branded button.
It plays very nicely, with power and resonance throughout. Ideal for traditional music, it is an instrument that has stood the test of time, being in great condition still. It is set up with Evah Pirazzi strings and wittner tailpiece. A fine violin for session play or performance.
(Comes in a new lightweight case).
