Orchard Violins, Ballymoyer

Mirecourt Violin from the 'Laberte-Humbert Workshops' Labelled 'H Denis' Circa 1930s. (OV24051)

Length of Back: 358mm

H. Denis violins were made in the Laberte Humbert Factory in Mirecourt, France in the 1930s.

According to Henley's dictionary, they had very good modelling and tonewoods and were finished in an orange-red spirit varnish.  The tonal quality of this particular one is very good.  Full and responsive, with plenty of volume.  It is set up with Helicore Strings and a wittner tailpiece.  A good violin for either classical or traditional genres.

(Comes in a lightweight case).
