Mirecourt Violin, labelled Leon Mortin 1929 (OV240110)
Length of Back: 360mm
This is a nicely made Mirecourt instrument from the workshops of Léon Mortin. It is made from well chosen tonewoods and is based on the Stainer profile. It has pronounced arching to both the top and back, showing good workmanship throughout. It is set up with Spirocore strings and Wittner tailpiece.
The violin has a very sweet and bright tone. Not the loudest, but very pleasing to play! An ideal instrument for an adult beginner or for accompaniment of songs or slow sensitive pieces.
Comes in a lightweight case.
