This violin was made in Mirecourt around 1920 in the atelier of Rene Jacquemin, whose work is renowned for good quality.
It is a Stradivari model with an attractively figured two piece maple back and good quality top of spruce. It is beautifully finished in a spirit based varnish of amber-brown with a beautifully cut scroll and edging. It is in very good condition throughout.
The violin has a rich and sonorous tone with plenty of volume. It’s set up with Helicore strings and Wittner tailpiece for fine tuning.
A fine instrument suited to a committed classical student.
Comes in a lightweight case.
