Maginni Violin, Germany Circa 1930 (OV25074)
The German area of Marknekerchin was a stronghold of violin making in the early 20th Century. Located in the region of Saxony, many of the violins made there were destined for the American market.
This particular violin possesses a viola like G string and is very responsive throughout. It’s a lovely violin to play with a quality tone.
It is made in the Maginni model, with elongated f holes and double purfling. It features an amber-red varnish and triple turned scroll.
An ideal violin for a good traditional fiddler.
