Mirecourt Violin (Laberte Workshop after Nicolas Lupot) 1930. (OV25081)
"Mirecourt Violin (Laberte Workshop after Nicolas Lupot) 1930. (OV25081)" has been added to your basket.
Many violins were made in Mirecourt in the 1900s and were named after Nicolas Lupot, who was known as the French Stradivari. This one originates from the Laberte workshops and is numbered 5045 internally and dated 1930.
It’s a nice violin, elegantly made with a neatly carved scroll, nice corners and finished in a golden brown varnish. It’s in good condition overall with no cracks.
It has good projection and a warm tone, with great sonority and power on the lower strings. It is set up with Wittner tailpiece and Helicore strings and has a very comfortable playing action.
An ideal instrument for a good fiddler of traditional music.
