Violin by Collin-Mezin fils 1923 (OV24091) —SOLD—
Length of Back: 360mm
The Collin Mezin Workshops are now internationally recognised as being one of France’s finest from the early 20th Century. Tonewoods used were carefully chosen and violins made here are now in high demand, causing values to continually increase in recent years.
This instrument is a Victorieux Grand Prix Model with an attractive two piece maple back, signed internally on the label by Collin-Mezin. The table is of fine spruce with neatly fluted F holes, lovely edging and neat purfling.
The violin is set up with Helicore Strings and a Wittner tailpiece. It plays with good volume and a deep, full tone. The overall response and playability of this instrument is excellent.
A lovely instrument of fine quality, from one of the most reputable French workshops.
