ER Roth Violin - Bubenruth, Germany - Stradivari Copy 1977. (OV23071)
Length of Back: 360mm
Ernst Heinrich Roth was one of the descendants of the well known Roth Family, whose workshop produced good quality violins throughout the 20th Century. Many of these were for export to USA, where the Roth brand is sought after still.
This violin is branded internally as can be seen in the photos (and also branded on the neck block internally).
It is a fine copy of a Stradivari 1724 and is now almost 50 years old. It was owned personally for 40 of these years by a highly respected instrument restorer in England.
The violin produces a large and resonant tone and lends itself very well to slower pieces. It is set up with Evah Pirazzi Strings and Wittner tailpiece for fine tuning.
A lovely violin, which has been very well cared for and which is great to play too!
